For several decades, humans have lived a life engulfed by the fear of the unknown to the point that most humans end up maintain a status quo that limits any possible change of their life to the desired form. Most people end up pretending to enjoy the status quo by putting themselves in a situation that affirms that they are indeed in a comfort zone but the reality deemed for their future decisions is harsh for them. It is noted many do not go for university education with a particularly targeted career objective, but they tend to attend higher learning sectors to fulfill the status quo that has been created in peoples mind that education is vital for the kind of social underpinnings that people desire.

Education is a multifaceted investment as described by Thomas Friedman. However, as many people go to university, many economists have realized that the human capital creation that they had claimed is created turning to hoop jumping field that does not make the graduates compete with the employability skills as it was considered before. For that matter, the pool of graduates coming out from universities with more social sciences and arts degrees is proving that university education is turning to be meaningless if graduates do not advance to post BA degrees. For instance, unlike Japan, other nations like Canada have demonstrated that acquiring a university degree is useless if the choice of faculty is not prioritized.

Indeed, it is a brilliant idea to unmake and remake the kind of notion set in peoples mind to avoid the harsh reality of the future pool of unemployed graduates. Unless people go beyond their comfort zones and make wise decisions concerning creating the desire for higher learning to meet the economic gap, then the future will not be right for the majority of people in campuses. It can be concluded that having a university degree may or may not be useful regarding the course or department of specialty thus people should not only consider going to university as a way to success but should find the course to learn as the central theme. Instead of compelling students to fulfill their desires, the process of unmaking and remaking the choices of faculty should be confined to the fact that completing a university degree is not a guarantee for success. It should be noted that filling higher learning institutions with students of basically one faculty (arts and social sciences) will continue adding to the pool of graduates living in a comfort zone and who will meet harsh reality of failing to get an internship. Remaking peoples decision should be guided by the principle that Japan and Canada have employed since most of its graduates have taken a course related to demand of experts and graduates in the engineering and science faculties rather than arts and social sciences that are easy to achieve.

The kind of elementary education and O level education should inform the subjects pursuing education about the reality of life and encourage students to make sound decisions on the career objectives regarding the trending technological advances that are replacing most of the workforce in the employment industry. All aspects of unmaking and remaking should start at the elementary level. It is a high time that the kind of education systems should employ the perspective of identifying and nurturing the abilities of learners to fit the future job market and not just letting students choose their careers blindly.

Question 3. The Justification of the Closure of Main Street High School and a Remedy to the Problem.

Many thanks to members of the school board sub-committee for all their tireless efforts. No one enters public service to close schools, but while our decision was difficult, we are confident it is also right. We firmly believe that all students, no matter their country of origin or economic background, deserve a chance to succeed. Education plays a vital role in social mobility, and our students require an active, efficient, and safe learning environment. After viewing several factors that are the tenets of success for any public school like the ratio of teachers to students, school attendance, graduation rate, number of students with part-time jobs among others made the committee to make anonymous decision to shut Main Street high school. The primary cause of the imminent shutdown is the fewer number of graduates that come from the school every year.

Also, it was discovered that majority of learners in the school carry on their activities alongside going to school resulting in absenteeism. The ratio of teachers to students is a vital element in any given school. In spite of the fact that King Street and Queens Street high schools have depicted a lousy teacher-student ratio, they still prove to have the guts to improve regarding academic achievements. Also, their attendance, investment in infrastructure, the percentage of graduates among others are also part of the factors that made it be considered an improving institution. However, we shall keep monitoring the progress of Queens Street and King Street high schools to make sure that they meet the standards of a high school profile. While Main Street High has struggled to improve graduation rates and increase the percentage of students attaining higher education, this choice is not an indictment of their hard-working and motivated students and staff.

Moreover, the most substantial factor in closing Main Street High was its outdated infrastructure. Instead of the prohibitively expensive project of re-building Main Street High, the city will invest that money into educational initiatives that will directly and positively impact students lives. For these reasons, we have made the difficult decision to close Main Street High School. We, therefore, urge the teachers, hardworking students, and all the stakeholders to keep their endeavors burning in other remaining schools. We also assure all teachers at the closed school that they will not lose their job but will be distributed to King Street and Queen Street high school to meet the student-teacher ratio and to work towards achieving the academic requirement for all to attain higher education standards.

However, the closure of Main Street High school does not mean that the students in the school are doomed and have nothing left for them. As a committee, a decision was made that all the students in Main Street high school will be allowed to continue with their educational endeavors in the remaining schools and urged to adhere to the rules that are deemed upon them as a way of ensuring that success is achieved. This move will increase both diversity and equality in our community, exposing students to many different educational opportunities. Main Streets award-winning vocational programs will continue in new locations, and free transportation will keep for all students. Students and staff of Main Street High will be divided between the King and Queen Street schools. I look forward to creating a brighter future for all our children.
