The policy on the Bann of Citizens from seven Muslim countries namely; Iran, Syria, Libya, Somali, Yamen and Iraq from going into the United States
During the presidents inauguration President Donald trump made many serious remarks on the need for more strict rules regarding how to handle jihadist militancy trends, the policy called for a such more strict or proactive policy in the fight against Sunni Jihadist militant groups. And in January 27th the president issues an executive order banning the citizens from the Muslim countries as seen in the introduction. This policy has brought about serious controversies since some of the countries have responded to this in different ways for instance the Irans official news agency, the Iran foreign ministry will result to similar counter measures as well where a ban of US nationals in the country as well as a counter attack of the US presidents Bann policy as well. Also in Iraq the government also called for a reciprocal measure as well for the ban of the US citizenship to the Islamic Republic. The Iraq popular mobilization Unit (PMU) called on the government of the country to ban the US nationals from entering the country as well as get those already in the country to leave the country immediately. This brought about different reactions as seen and not only did those two countries respond but many other countries as well especially the Islamic countries had a response to this policy enactment.
From the review of the policy this was such a bold move by the president that would have needed more time and analysis before its implementation. Most of the countries saw this as a destruction of international relations being formed in the process by disconnecting the countries as well as bringing up religious differences. The State of Texas mainly remain silent on the travel ban by president trump. From the different studies in relation to policies and there formation the travel ban was one of the most proactive measures towards the militancy trend but as seen earlier needed more time addressing.
Climate Change policy Reversal
The President Donald trump signed the withdrawal from Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) which withdrew the efforts of the former president Obama that was aimed at handling global warming. The order reverses the clean power plan which required the united states to regulate the power plans a thing the president saw to be limiting the independence of the countrys energy sources also the president said to believe in human caused climate changes and the reversal of this would lead to more jobs for the people. The environmental groups explained the possible harm of undoing the agreement and the impact on the changes would affect both the homes and even abroad not only the US. This led to an immediate impact where 17 states filled a legal challenge against this decision by the Trump administration to roll back the climate change regulations. These states were led by New York which argued that it was the responsibility of the administration to regulate the emission of harmful gases which are a major cause of global warming within the environment.
From the analysis of the policy it does not add up to to put the lives of all the citizens with the fact that a few jobs will be created but in return destroy the enviroment. Most of the states found it to be the responsibility of the administration to protect the environment and address the issue on global warming but not to be the major cause of this. The state of Texas being among the 17 states against this policy did not want the policy being enacted and neither did they find the presidents way of thinking in relation to human involvement in climatically changes. Despite this policies affecting not only the country but other countries as well needs to be addressed cautiously as per the policy analysis forum.
Undoing the Obama-Era waterway Regulations
In 28th feb President trumph signed theorder directing the EPA and the Army Corp of Engineers to reconsider a law passed by the former president Obama, this was the 201 regulation which was known as the water of the US which gave authority to the federal government over small waterways which included small ponds, wetlands and headwaters. The Obama-era waterway regulations required a Clean Water Act permit for any developer who wished to change or interfere with the small water resources (Jervis). The EPA is now tasked with rewriting the rule. The water protection laws were passed even before the passing of Obama rules by the congress. Some of these policies have brought about serious reactions from different states as well as the residents in the United States. This act alone brought to a series of reactions from different platforms in cry against the changes by the president.
