Design Essay Sample: Raf Simons

Several garments have unique elements of design as well as art movements. Each cloth has specific designs that make it unique in the market. The most successful clothes are based on three elements of design which are color, shape, line, and texture. Art movements, on the other hand, includes pop art, cubism, fauvism, impressionism, expressionism, and surrealism among others. The paper analyzes three outfits and identifies their specific elements of design as well as art movements.

The first type of outfits is the Raf Simons mens slim luxury shirts. These luxury shirts may have different colors such as red, blue, orange, green or white. Most common ones have neutral colors because they can be worn with anything. Their shape is designed to fit each type of bodies from slim to fat since it is aimed to compliment the person who is wearing it. Additionally, the shirts are designed with stars to make it attractive to customers. Lastly, they are made of silk texture which is smooth, soft and cool (Roueche & Shirley, 2010).

Concerning the art movements, these outfits were inspired by the Pop Art Movement and fauvism styles. The Pop Art Movement aims at bringing the clothes to the daily life of people by using common designs seen in everyday lives. For example, the shirts have images of stars that are seen over the sky in daily lives. The fauvism art movement in the clothes is recognized by the use of simplified designs that limits expressive colors. The use pure colors is to make them classic but straightforward as possible (Zujovic, Gandy, Friedman, Pardo & Pappas, 2009). The inspiration behind these designs is fruitful because it has made the garments more attractive and has sparked an interest which is suitable for the clothing.

The second type of outfits is the Raf Simons womens fabric jersey. These jerseys are made of different colors, but the most common types are made of a combination of different colors. The Impressionism style entails painting outside and studying the effects of light. Therefore, the clothes are made of different colors depending on the customers desire. The Op Art Movement, on the other hand, makes the cloth have intensely brilliant colors and sometimes with unique contrasts (Zujovic et al, 2009. The inspiration for these clothes is successful because of their overall design which is magnificent.

The last type of the outfit is the Raf Simons womens dress. This kind of dress has a wide range of colors that are flattering and compatible. They bring a desirable effect which makes them liked by many women and they make an excellent wardrobe-building colors. Surrealism inspiration entails emphasizing on psychological aspects in art hence helping in designing the clothing that triggers the psychology of women at first sight of the dress. The ART deco Movement inspired the dress to be designed with various visuals, bright colors, and exceptional designs (Icoglu, Gunsel & Sariel, 2004). These two inspirations have made the design of the dress successful since it looks fashionable and trendy.
