Since my early years as a child, I developed a passion for art and architecture. I used to enjoy scenic views of old houses that were built by architects as well as paintings from different artists. In my higher education, I took art and architecture as my main course only because I appreciate art and enjoy the aspect of trying to find out the hidden messages or the primary purpose of a piece of art. I love art because it is the form through which individuals portray their cultural beliefs. I appreciate the culture and values of the different communities in the world because they play a crucial part in disseminating knowledge and facts about their cultures. I have always dreamt of working in a national pavilion that displays artworks from different artists just to have the experience of viewing and explaining to the visitors the descriptions of every piece of art. I believe my passion for art and architecture and the understanding and appreciation of the cultural values of different communities, positions me as the best candidate for the internship. I will gladly adhere to the training and follow my duties since the placement is a lifelong desire that has been with me for many years.

What Outcomes or goals would you like to achieve by Participating in the Venice Internship?

According to Cohen (2014), internships play a significant role by providing one with the opportunity to participate in a real-world project and gain experience. In participating in the Venice internship, I want to achieve a real job experience that entails the performance of actual duties. I will utilize the placement as a platform to learn more about my career and put the knowledge I gained in class into practice. I want to learn how to interact with other colleagues, follow duties, solve problems, and become an active representative of the community and the organization. The Venice internship will prepare me for the entry-level job market. Internships strengthen students academic resumes, increases students maturity levels; improve their self-confidence and self-concepts, and helps in transitioning and planning for the future (Merritt, 2008). Thus, participating in the Venice Internship program will significantly strengthen my resume and increase my chances of landing a potential job offer. Moreover, performing different duties as an intern will improve my self-confidence and increase my level of maturity more than when in school. The internship program will serve as a platform for transitioning myself for the future and be prepared for the life ahead after the program.

What Kind of Experience do you have Travelling Internationally, and why do you think that will be Valuable to your Internship?

I have traveled in various cities such as New York and Paris where I have had the opportunity to visit art exhibitions, and I have seen how the staffs at these places conduct their activities, for instance, by ensuring the materials in the displays are safe. Now, I have an idea how an intern should behave while working in an art exhibition. The concept will be valuable during my internship period as I will be able to adapt swiftly to the new environment, take up the responsibility of taking care of the different pieces of artwork, and provide visitors with answers to questions and directions inside the art exhibition room. I have also learned the etiquette one requires as an employee or an intern in an art exhibition. This will enable me to uphold the values and principles of the institution that I will be representing.
