In essence, the concept of idealized art is often used to exhibits ultimate human experience, an aspect that is so common in the contemporary society. Apparently, idealization aims at producing a perfect art in the social setting, and therefore an individual uses thematic aspect of art to represent an exaggerated point of view rather than a reflective ideology. For instance, an idealized painting set to portray a woman has to take a perfect shape that is admirable as well as having a desirable outlook. This paper intends to discuss potential reasons for a particular idealized work especially as how it relates to culture as well as origin. While many people hold different opinions on the facet of idealized art, its main emphasy is a perfect feature and characteristic.
Vatican Stanze
Primarily, Vatican stance is a clear example of an idealized art. This was an art drawing by Raphael after being invited by Pope Julius II way back in 1508, (Gebhard, 15). Raphael was given a duty to work on the fresco. Apparently, this was to be the Popes library at the Vatican palace. To Raphael, it appeared as the largest works of art and perhaps the most important he had ever been engaged in. Earlier, Raphael had only painted one altarpiece in Florence, (Gebhard 20). In essence, the painting by Raphael was intended to make an astonishing impact on the Roman art which to date remains the greatest masterpiece ever housing the Parnassus, disputa and the school of Athens.
Having done an amazing job, Raphael was given more rooms to paint. Consequently, he had to displace some artists. Raphael completed painting on three rooms subsequently each with paintings on the walls and ceiling. His influence while painting the room majorly came from Michelangelos Sistine Chapel ceiling, (Gebhard, 55). The first section got completed way back in 1511 and stirred up lots of reactions from other artists. The strong influence of Michelangelo dominated the debate on the Italian art for the subsequent few decades. Raphael, however, rose up to the challenge as he had a special gift in incorporating the influences he received into his own personal work.
Raphael spends most of his time in the Vatican project where he painted several idealized portraits including those of Popes Julius II and Leo x. He was highly regarded for his idealized art. He was always admired and studied. The idealized paintings on the Vatican Stanze would be maybe to attract men and make it a beautiful place to stay, (Gebhard, 80). Keeping in mind that this was in Vatican palace and that the Frisco was to serve as Popes library, it becomes more obvious that it was meant to give the pope a nice and lovely environment. The paintings on the wall and ceiling were idealized arts. They were photographs of God basing on the Roman culture and the Roman religion. The paintings were a clear piece of art with ultimately exaggerated features meant to attract men to Christianity as people would associate themselves with the Good God as was exhibited in the art drawings.
Primarily, such notion was meant to people to act godly by trying to imitate the Good idealized photographs of God. Portraits of popes were also drawn. This was idolized too as they symbolized God in the earth in the Roman culture and religion, (Spaenjers, 120). Some of the goals of idolized art in the Vatican Stance were to cause religious transformation among the followers of the Roman religion and increase the followers by attracting them with beautiful exaggerated drawings.
In conclusion, the texture of the entire concept that amount to idealized art is an exaggerated notion rather than reality. As such, idolized art easily influences the very people who are associated with (Gardner &Kleiner 123). However, naturalists and realists have toppled the order witnessed in the 19th century. These movements are against idealization and emphasize on reality.
