The growth of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Information Systems (IS) coupled with the needs for Innovation and sustainability has increased the pace needed for high quality and efficient performance in organizations (Al-Mashari, 2008). As a result, organizations have spent billions of dollars and countless hours implementing IS. To integrate these ISs, Enterprise Resources Planning systems (ERPs) are implemented. These systems are implemented with the belief that they will lead to better performance (Compton, 2012) by facilitating organizational operations and supporting various organizational goals to achieve more efficiency and effectiveness.

Societies around the world are profiting from the quick advancement of data and interchanges innovation (ICT). In other words, ERP involves the planning and managing of the organizations resources in the most efficient, productive, and profitable manner (Barker & Frolick, 2008). It enables companies to integrate their business processes and all information relevant to their organization (Nah & Delgado, 2008). Kumar and Van Hillegersberg (2009) define it as configurable information systems packages that integrate information and business processes within and across functional boundaries within an organization. ERP is a comprehensive software solution that seeks to integrate the complete range of business processes and functions, in order to present a company-wide view of the business from a single IT architecture (Al-Mashariet al., 2008). When companies have efficient business processes, they can be more competitive in the marketplace.

Due to these challenges which are there organizations are now seeking technologies that are vast and have the ability, essential to manage every aspect of their business and at the same time making their internal processes to be more efficient, effective and professional. An Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is one of the most significant technological advancement that emerged during the last decade (Chung et al., 2012). ERP systems also called Enterprise Systems (ES) simply provide organizations with a set of incorporated application modules that cover most business functions (Scapens &Jazayeri, 2013). During the last decade, the adoption of ERP systems was clearly one of the most significant factors in organizational evolution, these days accounting for about thirty percent of all major evolution activities in organizations (Herold et al., 2012).

For instance, the use of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software has become increasingly more common in a lot of todays businesses which is no exception to the organizations in Qatar. It is adopted in many firms in an attempt to improve business performance. The concept of business performance can be operationalized as financial gains by the organization, operational improvements for the organization or intangible gains for the organization. The focus of this paper will be on the operational and intangible gains resulting from ERP implementation (which will be operationalized by many variables tested in this study).
