A sports stadium is a venue where events take place in a country. Most of the events are outdoor events and include but not limited to sports, public rallies, religious meetings, and concerts. Stadiums can hold a large number of people at one time making them a preference for most national and international meetings (Ahlfeldt and Wolfgang 642). The structure of a stadium must accommodate a large number of people and ensure that they can see the activity-taking place at ease. Stadiums that attract sports events have high capacities as they accommodate a large number of spectators and ensure that security and comfort are a priority. Construction of sports stadiums takes time as the planning phase must accommodate the futuristic capabilities of the space. Other considerations include the type and number of seats that are in place, security features, durability of materials used in the construction process, and possibility of having occupants of a stadium being subjected to harsh weather conditions like excess rain or sun (Gitter and Thomas 150). Therefore, construction of sports stadium takes special consideration in the planning process as well as the source of funds. The management of sports department in a country must have an idea on the number of fees spectators will pay, which will help return the amounts invested and earn the stadium some revenues. The government has a responsibility of assisting its citizens by availing public services. The public should help fund professional sports stadiums since revenues earned from the venues help create to the resources that help develop a nation; it helps promote local talents while encouraging more people to exercise their gifts in sports.
When the government decides to create a sports stadium, they are futuristic and want to see developments taking place in the country (Ahlfeldt and Wolfgang 629). Overseeing such projects requires the commitment and ability to focus on quality so that the stadiums can have fewer construction mistakes that affect the number of people it can hold at any point. Developments made in a country affect every sector in the economy and creation of sports stadiums is one of the investments that a government engages. It also helps ensure that the public and local visitors can access the facilities and part with a significant amount of fees before submission (Gitter and Thomas 152). When a government is making national budgets, it ensures that it allocates all sectors in the economy with the aim of improving performance in every docket. In addition, it also helps ensure that sectors can sustain their activities and earn revenues in the short-term and the long-term.
The government should help fund professional sports stadiums since revenues paid by spectators as they access the fields help the nation and as well as the sports activities in the country (Baade and Victor 333). Ministries and department of sports in a country persuade the government to create the venue that can hold large numbers of people meaning that there is a high probability of earning more incomes when a stadium is full. Large amounts of funds earned from sports activities mean that the national team of the country will have enough resources to finance their activities as they head to various destinations in the world (Groothuis, Bruce, and John 524). The national team represents a country when playing against other nations and must get full support from the government as an incentive and encouragement so that they can perform better when playing. The sports stadiums management should ensure that every fund collected is accounted for so that the levels of success in using the revenues are high. Protecting the funds collected also ensures that interests of all citizens are prioritized since their money in the form of taxes were used to construct the stadiums (Baade and Victor 329). Part of the money collected can also be used in purchasing equipment and uniforms for national teams and provide transport fees when moving to different destinations. The national team must have their expenses paid when travelling from one country to another. It helps reduce the financial burden on a country as government money could be invested in other areas and help improve the economic performance of the nation (Ahlfeldt and Wolfgang 636).
The government should help fund professional sports stadiums since it creates an environment where people with natural talents in gifts can engage in professional games (Gitter and Thomas 149). Training and practice venues mean that the only effort players need to have is availing themselves of time so that they can exercise and improve the skills they possess. Veteran sportspersons can motivate, encourage, and train upcoming and younger persons that have interest in games as a profession (Groothuis, Bruce, and John 517). Public stadiums mean that people from different parts of the country and world as well can access the venue when events are held, as they want to watch live events. Spectators part with entry fees, which earn players some allowance after playing. During practices, people can realize they hold more than one gift and decide to pursue it with the seriousness it requires (Baade and Victor 342). Commitment from trainers means that since the venues are free, there is a high probability of producing sportspeople that will represent the country in other nations in private game activities. In addition, sportspeople who train at the national stadiums must part with some fees that will help in the management of venue repairs and maintenance. It helps reduce the dependence on the fees earned during national sports events, which might not be enough (Noll and Andrew 56). In addition, it helps communicate to the sports management team that a trainer has serious interest in pursuing professional sports.
The government should help fund professional sports stadiums since it helps contribute to the social status of a nation (Groothuis, Bruce, and John 515). Countries with well-equipped stadiums have a potential of hosting international sports activities. The events attract millions of spectators in the world to witness the live activities in a venue. These events positively affect other economies in the world as, during the sports activities, provisions must come from other businesses in the country (Baade and Victor 323). Temporal and permanent jobs are created for the citizens, which helps in transforming their livelihoods and quality of lives they live. A country that has developed and presentable sports stadium venues attract the attention of the world and are proud to host different activities. For instance, when a nation holds more than three international sports events in one year, some tourists visit the country so that they can enjoy watching games while experimenting with different activities in the nation. Sponsors and donors are willing and able to support nations that show interest in the construction of sports stadiums as they acknowledge the potential the venues create for the nations and future generations (Gitter and Thomas 145).
In conclusion, government funding of professional sports stadiums encourages the citizens of a nation that the state cares about their talents and gifts. It helps citizens who depend on professional sports have an easy time pursuing their dreams as they have areas where they can train and sharpen their skills. The presence of sports stadiums in a nation communicates to other nations in the world on the commitment a country has towards sports and games through its ability to provide training grounds for all sportspersons. The government has a responsibility of constructing a sports stadium that will last for long without needing adjustments and modifications. It must also accommodate large numbers of people at the same time, which helps increase the amounts earned in revenues for a nation. Constructing stadiums that meet international standards means that a country will attract both local and international events in the venues. For instance, the government must take note of ensuring the sports stadiums meet the capacity and size, security, lighting, amongst other features of international stadiums so that global activities can take place in a country. Other economies will feel the effect of hosting people from different nations, as they will earn incomes from a large number of attendees and participants. The public also gains confidence in a government that invests in the right projects that help generate incomes for the economy further raising standards of all citizens.
