The society is rather divided on whether the human activities are the cause of the destruction of nature. Some opine that human activities will have very minimal or no effect on the environment whereas others believe that all the problems that affect the earth are mainly due to the human activities. These include actions such as deforestation, industrialization, and use of non-renewable energy in the activities. This essay will address the two sides and later I will give my stance on the impact of human activities.

Arguments Against the Statement

The individuals who will always argue against the link between human activities and the damage to the earth come up with an array of arguments. Firstly, they provide that there is nothing like global warming. One of the individuals who argue in this manner is President Donald Trump. He once argued that Global warming is all an issue that was brought about to reduce the production of the United States (Cillizza, 2017). Secondly, others argue that these acts of conservation are more harmful as compared to the good. A good argument was that man is the one who loses. The process of trying to conserve this environment makes it difficult for them to be able to carry out their activities.

Professor Duffy goes further describes the daily activities of these individuals are not only interrupted but criminalized (Hill, 2010). Lastly, some section of the society provides that the earth will always end up just destroying itself. They give an example of the volcanic eruptions and the floods that occur. These are actions that have been occurring before industrialization and these activities that are said to attribute to global warming and destruction of the earth (Griffin, 2017). Conclusively, they argue that the earth wills always have its own self-healing process and it will never be destroyed by our activities.

Argument in Support of the Statement

A huge percentage of individuals who agree with the link between human activities and the destruction of the environment try to argue based on facts and scientific findings. For example, scientists had to carry out studies to show that global warming is real. They compared the temperature of the earth today, the water levels, and the occurrence of the natural calamities, against the previous years. For example, research has been carried out comparing the occurrences of an area before industrialization and deforestation and the effects once these activities came into the picture. Consequently, they conclude that the climate has taken a drastic change and they conclude that human activities have an effect on the earth. A good example is the city of Donora which was completely covered by smog for many days (Baranauskas, 2017)Conclusion

Conclusively, I believe that human activities will always play a hand in the nature of the earth. From the scientific and historical events, it goes without saying that we need to always take care of the environment if we want to reap the most from it. Earth is our only home and we should try to conserve it for our use today and for the future generations. We have seen the wrath of mother nature and global warming and pollution continuously make it worse. We should, therefore, try our best to instill a culture of environmental conservation for humankinds own good and prosperity.
