Every individual is faced with difficult decisions that allow them to fall into a big ditch and often forget their main purpose of living. It is usually stipulated that every human being on the face of the earth has got their worst side that often comes out when they feel helpless and unable to persevere certain level of suffering. A persons daily life can be filled with more adversity than any other person, and because of this, significant setbacks can be hard to face. I remember everything with a glimpse of fear and time the hardship I had to face resembled a menacing monster that wanted to swallow me alive.

I was not going through the loss of someone I loved since most people who came to comfort me expected that it was the issue. Little did they know that what I was facing was far more monstrous than they had hoped. I remember staying all night wishing that I could kill myself. My life was full of adventure. I was a young individual who everyone admired to be in the company of. All my peers envied my lifestyle. My father had given me freedom and had rented me an apartment where I had everything at my disposal.

I think it might be the freedom I got, the love from friends and admirers or the fact that my parents were well off and I was spoilt too much that made me an irresponsible person. I used to hold parties of drinking and merrymaking without caring how much I spent. It is no doubt that I was unstoppable. One summer morning, I was riding my brand new motorcycle when I bumped into a strange person. The way the individual dressed, one could tell the lifestyle and the class that he belonged. I did not want anyone to be better than me, and so like usual, I had to show him that, in that area, I was the one who was supposed to thrive.

The lack of ingenuity and plan led me to fall into a big trap that I will never forget. That night the strange friend lured me into a casino, where I was supposed to show my class and what am worth. I made sure that all my friends were there to witness the victory that I would acquire and prove to everyone that I was the one in charge and the boss. I went to the gambling table going all in since I was sure that people respected my father and knew that we were wealthy. Only my uninformed mind led me to the lion den. The strange man, I later came to find out that he belonged to a group of the mafia who were interested in robing rich naive kids. I had fallen right into their bait, and I was there blindly with no idea what I was up against.

The con artists were brilliant, and it appeared like they were using magic. All their cards were a full house, and there was no way I could win. I placed all my savings as my bet until I had insolvent. I wished to run and flee the embarrassment that was catching up with me in the midst of all my friends and players. I gathered courage and invested my money in the gamble. It turned out that I was a terrible gambler and a chronic addict to pride. People expected me to fold and leave the table, but I could not quit. It was of the con artists best interest, however, to keep me there.

The con artists started giving me alcohol, so I began to rumbling all the secrets that I knew of whether told by my parents or not. I had no idea that I was giving the con men the final nail in my coffin. I rattled all my father secrets to the enemy and did not have a glimpse of self-control. It was until in the morning that I woke up in a hard bar stool with a terrible headache that I started recalling the unfolding of that night. I went to the counter only to find that I owed the bar manager more than I had on my credit card. If it were not for the fact that my father was well respected and known, the bar manager would have made me arrested.

I hurriedly left aware that my actions were going to cause dire consequences. I tried calling my father, but his phone was out of service. I can still remember the awful twitch in my stomach as I passed up and down in the house. I could not imagine that I was going to give up my lifestyle and worst, I was afraid of facing my parents who had so much faith in me.

I transferred from my previous school due to shame, and after a month I learned how to earn my place in the society and respect. My parents did not pamper me as they used to. I knew that from that day forward, everything would not be the same again, even the relationship with my parents.
