The America government system has and will always remain to be the well-structured political system in the world. The programs and policy-making strategies in America have made it acquire the title of the most organized, resourceful, dominant and well-established system that is most emulated in the world. The topmost purpose of the American constitution is to safeguard the rights of citizens and the civil liberties. The most significant example is the right to exercise the democratic right that is granted to every person in all the States that is 18 years and above regardless of gender, sex or race. This essay seeks to analyze the way the voice of the people can be heard in the American nation after people lost confidence in it on and before the 2012 elections.
After a realization that most of the government officials disregard the fundamental rights of the citizens which are to be heard by the government and to get their grievances achieved, citizens through the constitution discovered five ways to make their desires fulfilled. The first way is through Digital Citizenship (Ginsberg, Weir & Lowi, 2013). Through digital citizenship, the people make use of social media handles to share their views on matters regarding government spending, political aspirations, and issues of human rights.
Regarding Ginsberg et al. (2013), the second aspect is through political interest groups which have a loud voice regarding governments activities and policies. The strengths of the interest groups emanate from forming a particular topic, enlightening people about it and educating a large population about the goals of the matter thus making it a powerful way of pushing an issue to be regarded by the national government. The interest groups focus on the strong will of the people to exercise freedom of speech and form a mutual interest. The interest groups resulted in an example for the very long time of inactiveness and denial of the Affordable Care Act.
The third way is to pay taxes. Paying taxes helps the US government to carry out the tasks that its citizens demand thus making the voice of the minority to be heard. Participation in politics and taking part in elections. An election in the United States is made to safeguard the voice of each person including the minority groups that might be living in states that are underpopulated. To solve the issue of the minority groups being pinned down from getting the president of their choice, the US government and election system are made up of the popular vote and Electoral college vote that balances the final president-elect of the nation.
Gaining knowledge is another way that the citizens air out their ideas since when the citizens have the required experience of what they should receive from the government, then they will pressurize it to offer the services through peaceful campaigns. Forming campaigns and political groups is another reliable way of making the state to offer the required services to its citizens.
