Local artistic programs have incorporated different cultural framework to develop a unique community feature and characteristics. Public art such as historical monuments possesses decorative features and important elements in place making which contribute in personalizing of public space.

It has also sought to explain the origin of events and their meaning and also their importance. Additionally, art has enabled people such as refugees to trace back their origins, their native languages, and identities. Art has enabled people to identify important features of a community which distinguish it from other communities by either its weakness or masculinity. Recollection, elaboration, and conservation of heritage are used to trace back peoples origin and their respective cultural practices.
