The last ten decades has seen a significant upsurge in lifestyle diseases such as obesity, heart disease, and diabetes amongst others. These diseases have no exception, plaguing both the young people and the old. They are closely connected to people's daily food choices. With a large variety of foods to choose from, many people make poor food choices, ignoring the overall impact that food has on health. Poor food choices ultimately lead to unhealthy bodies with lowered immunity and an overall low quality of life.

Michael Pollan, in an article We are what we eat details how the human body responds to ingested industrial food. Most often than not, healthy people make quality food choices. They weigh the nutritional value of the food and the overall impact it's likely to have on health before they can consume it. Healthy people limit the intake of unhealthy foods with too many calories, inorganic products, and sugar, and when they take them, they do so with limited qualities. As a result, they are able to maintain a healthy immunity and live longer than people who make poor food choices.

People who make poor food choices tend to damage their bodies and have a lower quality of life as far as health is concerned. Most of these people have trouble selecting food based on nutritional value rather than its taste. Despite knowing the effects of overindulging in unhealthy industrialized foods, some people just can't seem to help themselves. This can sometimes be driven by eating disorders or stress-related factors. The choice of food that an individual eats will ultimately have an impact on an individual's body and quality of life. People with poor food choices have higher chances of developing lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and obesity ("We Are What We Eat"). They are also likely to live shorter than people who watch what they eat.

From a young age, children must be trained on the impacts of food to the quality of their health so that they make conscious decisions when it comes to matters food. Healthy eating habits have to be taught alongside other moral virtues because it ultimately adds up to the way an individual turns out to be and the choices he/she makes.

The food topic is significant to a wide audience because the 21st century has seen a lot of food-related deaths. Unhealthy eating habits have resulted in the deaths of several people globally and led to the development of diseases that can be avoided. This topic is focused on creating awareness and in so doing, encourage people to make better food choices and live healthier lives. Food choices will ultimately reflect on whether or not an individual lives a quality life.

In conclusion, as discussed in the paper, the choices of food that people eat have a profound effect on health. What people eat will ultimately reflect on their life quality. Healthy people often emphasize more on nutritional foods that add strength and boost immunity. Unhealthy people, on the other hand, are more focused on the taste quality of the food than its value to the body. It goes without saying that if more people made good food choices, then several lifestyle-related health issues would be put at a minimum. The possibility of a healthy world can be made realistic by more awareness about foods and people who are determined to make better food choices.
