Focusing on the scars will not help anymore because the past is gone and people should focus on building the future. Again, one who doesnt love forgiveness is an enemy of peace. The write-up Between the world and me, is a letter to Ta-Nehisi Coates that has featured personal, historical, as well as his intellectual development regarding how black people survived in America (Coates and Klaus, 6-21). From the novel, Coates has written about his upbringing in the ghettos of Baltimore where he learned how to survive. In the ghetto, they were poor, marginalized, and desperate. The most of this novel has focused on the diversity of black people. Coates has given the history concerning the destruction of the blacks, racism, and how the whites value themselves. By writing to his son, Coates has described the perils of being black that is a disadvantage and that they have to work extra harder. Additionally, there is a difference between their lives because, during his time, Coates experienced all this, but something has changed as compared to what the son is experiencing. Again, the gap between the blacks and the whites is now narrower to the extent of being unrecognizable. From the post, Robert Cherry has argued that Making freshmen read Between the World and Me is a mistake that I strongly support. By reading the work by Coates will incite another rivalry after hurting the wounds already have scars. That was the past, and now there is a different presentation that should build a very different future. By making the freshmen read Coatess work Between the World and Me is a mistake and instead, people should focus on building a peaceful future of their kids and not revealing the scars of their old experience because it will incite another rivalry.

Revealing the history of blacks to freshmen is a way of expressing segregation and isolation concerning the injured, robbed, and disadvantaged. The unsegregated American will, therefore, have a reflection of poverty, its effects, and how it spreads across the country based on skin color. On the other hand, the black will also have a personal reflection of the same and then end up creating rave based on racial difference. Based on the theme of the novel, the Coates doesnt want a world where the black and the white live in harmony that makes unsuitable for this reading to be introduced to the freshmen. Again, the content in this reading is not academically phrased but a letter directed to his son that has focused on one community. An academic text, for instance, literature, it should have focused on some features like rhetoric and style analysis that are not found in the reading by Coates. From the text, the most probable outcome is a political rivalry between the black and the white. In current America, there is a lot of harmony and peace that will be dissolved by the fact that the students will be equipped with the terms black and white that have a great political meaning.

In his work, Coates has also addressed the power of America through the police force that is a reflection of the American legacy (Coates and Klaus, 6-21). Based on this, it is also a biased message that is likely going to disassociate the unity between the blacks and the whites. The real image of this quote that understanding that the officer carries with him the power of American State as well as the American legacy that necessitates them to have more black bodies killed out of crime is that whites are protected as compared to the blacks (Coates and Klaus, 6-21). From a historical perspective, the number of years lived by the blacks in a free state and not as the slave does not reflect what Coates has implied. One needs to understand that the power of people protects the federal law and therefore creating a more diverse community at this level will lead to lack of harmony, peace, and political unity. Again, the freshmen cannot digest the message of the reading in a historical perspective and rather, they will start giving it a current reflection based on their melanin differences. Another inappropriate message from the reading is that Coates has documented that as a black boy, the pitch of education was a border between the prosperous in America and those who were meant to be a great hydra of prison, teenage pregnancy, as well as murder. This has given an implication that the school is a wonder or else a way out. The reading, therefore, has created an education platform where their racial profile will guide students unlike having a social background that will embrace united academic excellence. In his, work Coates has enabled oppression through verification of stereotypes which is not important at the moment. There is a progressive America regarding its policy that doesnt require people to keep on revisiting the historical diversity that was based on white supremacy and the oppressed communities.

In his book, the author argues that race itself is useless and therefore the text has nothing to do with racism. The idea of race is very important concerning the history of America including the self-identification of its people. Again, the text has discredited the idea of the race making it an unchangeable fact. Based on the historical changes, one can identify the changes and progressive America without distorting ones life, especially for the black students. In this perspective, one can argue that those who love the truth will leave to embrace peace. In the text, Coates has explained that the blacks have lived for many years in a free state without any oppression which is indicative of change and a progressive America. Coates was also trying to convey hope for the blacks and not to reveal the healed scars. The text is expected to equip the students with a historical background rather than expanding the rivalry between the black and the whites.

In conclusion, after reading the Between the World and Me, you get different understandings. The different conclusions implied by the novel include exploration of the African American experiences, the difference between growing up in the ghettos and urban America, and what it takes to grow up as a boy. Concerning the open conclusion, the freshmen are likely going to capture the racial differences that will affect their relationships. Additionally, the text can be read as a book or any other archive material. America is a progressive nation and focus that is focusing on creating a better and equal opportunity for everyone and therefore the historical differences should not be used as part of scholarly materials. It lacks the stylistic aspect of an academic article and thus it is a mistake for freshmen to read the text without any scholarly purpose.
