Recently, our daily lives and routines are continuously being affected and almost being taken over by technology. Technological gadgets such as telecommunications devices and other over the Wi-Fi-enabled gadgets have completely changed the way we play, we work and even how we socialize with other people and the environment. In todays world, our individuals time has been influenced by these new gadgets including smartphones with each passing day. The current generations are leading lifestyles that are fully tech-dependent and thus creating huge changes in all spheres of life. As this trend continues, it seems that new technology adoption and influences on our lives will be inevitable. The bottom line is that technology is so integrated into our lives that any attempt to boycott can lead to severe anxiety. Despite the fact that technology simplifies how we do things does not mean that it does makes our lives easier but in reality, it complicates our lives.
Technology presents many challenges that continue to complicate our lives. When the wrong people handle technology, it can result in harmful results. New technologies have always brought along more problems. Technology presents dangerous effects especially in the way it is used in modern warfare. The use of nuclear technology and other weapons has caused anxiety across global borders. Such technological innovations have the potential to destroy the entire humanity. When militia groups such as terrorists are in possession of such weapons they can easily misuse technology through causing destructions. The greater the technological inventions, the greater the risks it posed to the universe.
Apart from the risks it poses to the humans and the universe, technology complicates our social lives and promotes laziness as people continue to over-rely and misuse. For instance, technology has allowed online social interactions and thus eliminating the face to face interactions. You will be surprised that people are no longer holding get-togethers or one on one meeting since technology has provided social platforms where people engage each other as in face to face meetings. Social institutions such as religion, marriage, families, and state have been altered. For instance, family functions have been taken over by other technological agencies. Technology has promoted secularism as people become more rational and scientific shaking the foundations of religion.
Besides, technology has promoted automation of service production, delivery, and consumption. As a result, many jobs opportunities are lost to automation such as robotics technologies among others. Similarly, technology is prone to becoming obsolete and therefore demands constant upgrades and staff training. The fact remains that no amount of automation can replace the human resource aspect because people still operate these technologies. Following such negative impacts on our lives, we can conclude that the use of technology in our daily lives is making our lives too complicated.
