Your post is quite informative given that it is an in-depth analysis of exploring research. An essential element I have learned in this post is that in the provided class material by Faulkner. S and Faulkner. C (2016) exemplifies how quantitative data can be analyzed for each variable. It highlights the methods that can be used to analyze the numeric data. As such, these methods as you mentioned are the use of descriptive statistics which entails the description of the basic characteristics of the data in an investigation or study. Secondly, the inferential statistics which is I agree is applied in making an establishment on the observed difference among groups and whether it is dependable or an independent variable. Correspondingly, the book Research Methods for Social Workers: A Practice-Based Approach is important, and I believe studying this course would enhance our data analysis skills in this course and beyond. Thank you.

Highlighting the summary of Chapter 11 of the course material Research Methods for Social Workers: A Practice-Based Approach makes the comprehension of your post quite simple, and it is a sign of emphasis of the course content. This chapter is quite enlightening on matters of critical thinking, exploring research, as well as overall assessment of research procedures. I was wondering if you referenced the material (Faulkner. S and Faulkner. C 2016). Nevertheless, quantitative data analysis comprises a collection of data which is analyzed into numeric data. Your post is well thought out and details the meaning as well as the steps of data analysis. I conform to your idea that descriptive statistics does not only facilitate the process of organizing and describing numeric data, but also it helps one understand occurrences. It can be applied alongside qualitative data to make research comprehensive and accurate.

Your posting is rather objective in regards to the description of measures of dispersion. The course material describes this aspect in details. For instance, it elucidates on the various examples of measures of dispersion such as standard deviation as well as variance. According to Faulkner S. and Faulkner C. (2016) learning of these facts are important in the evidence-based practices. Employing the use of data analysis using measures of dispersion would help a social worker develop in-depth knowledge of a problem in the context of a community. As such, one can quantify the variability of an issue to be able to establish comprehensive strategies to tackle them. I like the part you described the histogram. It is used for the presentation of data to ease interpretation. It is an imperative tool for data presentation. Thank you

Well, your post has extensively described the elements of the chapter. Kindly, would you mind to add more to inferential statistics? The materials are helpful for me as I have had many instances of using quantitative data analysis alongside qualitative data analysis but most of the times I used the later. I have gained insight from your post and other peers in this course. Quite illustrative is your section of the various steps that I did not find much to add on. However, I would like to emphasize to you to apply the practical applications of this course to reinforce the abstract theory we learn (Faulkner. S and Faulkner. C 2016). It will make all of us effective practitioners. Your illustration of distribution, mode, mean, median and central tendency are compelling. Thank you.Reference
