After the preparation, I got the opportunity to share the pamphlet with parents of an infant from a child-care center within my community. Ideally, the mother was tremendously receptive to learning. She had been raised where her grandparents profoundly smoked around her and in her presence. In fact, she mentions that the grandparents, at one time, tried to lure her into smoking but she refused. Even after refusal, she continued to be affected by the effects of their actions because the effects reached her as a passive smoker. The father, on the other hand, accepts being a victim of various environmental factors that affected him at an earlier age. Specifically, he mentions that his father was a farmer, who used to apply herbicides to crops in their farms. Due to the vitality of the herbicide, the drug could drift to the neighbourhoods to significantly affect people and other living creatures. He says that the flow influenced him when it the drug came into contact with his skin. However, he was treated and discharged from the hospital after few days. In my opinion, I felt that these were the right people to have my discussion with because of their experiences on various environmental factors that can affect the health of infants.

As part of assessing the understanding of our objectives, I asked both the infants parents to share some of the primary points they got from our interaction. Undeniably, they were able to share several facts together with me, and this was a sole indicator that they were fascinated and interested in the kind of interaction and discussion I initiated. While I feel that it was an enjoyable experience to share with these particular parents, there is an improvement opportunity. The parents were very open and ready to share their experiences with me and this substantially helped and improved the whole learning process. Perhaps, the success of the whole interaction might have gone well because of the pamphlet nature, which mainly involved simple terms and statements that would be easily be understood.

I noticed one striking thing during our learning interaction. The pamphlet I prepared seemed to capture the fathers attention when he saw an image of a little child on the pamphlet who was surrounded by smoke. The parents got the opportunity to learn more about the environmental factors that affect the lives of the infants health. It gave them insights about effects of family and friends habits on the young children. In the same way, the mother expressed her pleasure in discussing some of the issuers she had been facing or felt that she would meet in future.

The general interaction would, however, be improved in various ways. First, it would be developed in any case I taught them individually perhaps because of their level of education and family background. A most striking thing to note was that both parents were substantially fascinated with the discussion about the environmental factors that can affect the health of infants. Secondly, I could also improve the learning process by giving them a copy of the pamphlet as their reference where necessary, thus improving their knowledge. Notably, parenting is multidimensional. To respond to the needs of their infant child, parents will have to develop both depth and breadth of expertise that ranges from being aware of various developmental milestones and norms helps in keeping their children safe and healthy to understanding the role that professional play as well as the systems. Finally, the learning experience could have also been improved in any case the parents were given the opportunity to demonstrate and provide their view, attitudes, and perception of various ways through which the environmental factors that affect infants can be reduced or prevented.
